Green Infrastructure(part 3)

An example for Green Infrastructure is an urban edge river flood plain, providing repository for flood waters. This infrastructure should function as a recreational green space, also.

United Kingdom is a leading country in Europe to largely recognise Green Infrastructure. In this country this infrastructure is an approach for spatial planning, established in national, regional, local levels, too.

2009 is  an important date for Green Infrastructure. At that year a Guide on Green Infrastructure Planning was published by Natural England, accessible on Internet, too. The essential of this Guide is to promote "green infrastructure place-making", which means for example  to maintain and perceive particular locations, where new plannings are in statement.

volunteers in hungarian environmentalism

Agreed to a round table discussion, including Hungarian non-profit organizations, happened last week in Budapest, the number of volunteers coming and working in Hungarian non-profit organizations grown evidently in past 5-6 years.

Volunteer motivation can be different, but there are some main reasons:
-single women searching contacts and love relationship(85 percent of cases)
-high school students are spending their  compulsory volunteer work period(since 60 hrs of volunteer work is compulsory for them, agreed to a new governement decision)
-university and college students, eager to  gather professional experiences and later on become employees of these organizations
-leisure time spending

Volunteering in non-profit ecological organizations is more accentuated, than elsewhere. In environmentalism and ecology, action and participation are very important, and hereby the role of volunteers is enormus.

Green Wall of Sahara

Nowdays African countries fight against sand in Sahara.

Last summer 11 African countries held a meeting in theme "how to construct the Green Wall in Sahara". The main goal was the stopping of Sahara spreading. Action would be important because there is a real danger that in 2025 Sahara will overwhelm agricultural lands.

The main concept of such a green wall would be the establishment of 15 km forest to stop sand hurricanes.
